B2Digital Expands LIVE Events Strategy With New Combat Sports Friday Nights Featuring Top Former B2FS Stars

B2Digital Expands LIVE Events Strategy With New Combat Sports Friday Nights Featuring Top Former B2FS Stars

TAMPA, FL, Aug. 02, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — via NewMediaWire – B2Digital Incorporated (the “Company” or “B2Digital”) (OTCMKTS:BTDG), the premier development league for mixed martial arts (“MMA”), is excited to announce that, starting this weekend (Friday, August 5), the B2 Fighting Series (B2FS) LIVE Event weekend schedule will feature Combat Sports events on both Friday and Saturday: Going forward, every event weekend will kick off on Friday night with a special showcase of top fighting talent engaged in Professional Grappling, Kickboxing, and/or Boxing. That will be followed by a full B2FS MMA Fight Night event on Saturday night.

“Adding Combat Sports Friday Nights gives the fans something they want while roughly doubling the number of revenue-producing events we have each quarter despite having a minor impact on our costs – our fixed cost structure for any weekend B2FS event doesn’t change much whether we sell tickets for both Friday night and Saturday night or just for Saturday night,” noted Greg P. Bell, Chairman and CEO of B2Digital. “It also gives us a great excuse to showcase some of the best talent that ever stepped into a B2 cage: our graduates. The best B2FS fighters eventually get called up to the big leagues to fight under the brightest lights in the sport. These Friday night events will offer them the chance to come back and thrill B2 fans once again.”

Management anticipates this new Live Event weekend schedule will carry advantages for both top- and bottom-line performance. The major costs involved in staging a new event have to do with traveling, transporting equipment, venue operations, equipment setup, and local marketing. These costs are relatively stable whether the company sells tickets for two nights of events or just one.

This model will also give the Company more content to monetize through other channels while nearly doubling the number of revenue-producing days over any given fiscal period.

In addition, the Company will be very excited to welcome many former B2FS superstars back under the B2 Fighting Series lights for these Combat Sports Friday night events. Some have already agreed to take part.

Bell continued, “As we exit the Gym and Fitness business to focus entirely on our LIVE Event strategy, the addition of star-studded combat sports events on Friday nights will help to drive accelerating revenue growth and to build out our fanbase by diversifying into Grappling, Kickboxing, and Boxing. At the same time, we should see improving margins on a per-Event-weekend basis and overall. Finally, we are in the process of developing some new and exciting ways to monetize the sharp jump in our base of produced combat sports content coming our way, and we will have more details related to this soon.”

Sherwood Park Highland Gathering expands to a weekend-long event

Sherwood Park Highland Gathering expands to a weekend-long event

The Sherwood Park Highland Gathering is back for 2022 and is bigger than ever.

This year, the festival has expanded from a single day to an entire weekend affair (July 23 and 24), complete with performances, highland dance competitions, and Scottish heavy games at Broadmoor Lake Park.

Strathcona County was home to the 2019 event after organisers moved it from its decades-old location in Fort Edmonton. According to vice president and co-founder of the Sherwood Park Highland Gathering, Roxanne Carr, attendance went from an average of 1,500 people in Edmonton to more than 5,000 in Sherwood Park.

“2019 was our first successful year, and then COVID shut us down – but we all knew that we would wait for a sunnier day, and those sunny days are this year, 2022. We’re excited to put this event on again,” said Carr.

The gathering kicks off July 22 with an evening whiskey tasting event. Following that, there will be two days of highland dance competitions, pipe and drum competitions, heavy games, Lexus Art in the Park, a marketplace, a kids’ zone, food trucks, beer gardens, and local talent. Haggis, of course, will be available at one of 10 food trucks at the event.

Also new this year is the involvement of the local business community; a “Paint the Town Tartan” program encourages businesses to don the plaid and provide Celtic-themed experiences to raise awareness of the gathering.

Some additional Saturday events include the Tartan Run, a 5km walk/run around Broadmoor Lake Park, and an evening Ceilidh with live entertainment.

Carr noted a doggy rest stop with treats and water will be on-site at the festival for people wanting to bring their pups to the park.

“We want the kids, the families, the dogs; bring them all!”

The Sherwood Park Highland Gathering is free to attend; some events, such as the whisky tasting, Ceilidh, and Tartan Run, are ticketed (paid) events. More details can be found here.

City expands special event parking ahead of long weekend celebrations

Large sign that reads Special event parking

With tens of thousands of visitors headed to the downtown core over the next four days for special events, the City of St. Catharines has expanded its special event parking to support parking demand.

From June 30 to July 3, special event parking rates will be in place at additional City-managed surface lots and garages to support increased parking management. The move comes after City Council approved expanding its special event parking policy to more lots, as well as instituting new dynamic pricing that will see the fee range from $5 up to as much as $10 for larger-scale events. The $10 fee will be in place this weekend, with major events planned for Montebello Park and Meridian Centre.

The City has been charging special-event parking fees of $5 since 2014 during special events at FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre and Meridian Centre. The funds raised support the long-term financial sustainability of the City’s parking system. While the $5 fee will remain in place for those events, the new dynamic fee will be used for large-scale events to respond to supply and demand, while also encourage the use of transit and carpooling.

From June 30 to July 3, the following lots will have special-event parking in place for $10, cash only: Ontario Street parking garage (Cirque du Soleil ticket holders only), Garden Park / Carlisle Street parking garage, Garden Park lot, Race Street lot, Head Street lot, David S. Howes Way lot, Market Square lot at City Hall, St. Paul Street / Westchester lot, William Street lot, Raymond Street lot, St. Catharines Public Library Central Branch lot. To help accommodate parking demand, the City has also secured use of the lot at 68 Church St. – the former Niagara Regional Police District 1 site – from June 30 to July 3, and will charge special event parking for $10 at that site.

The Riordon Street lot and the Garden City Arena Complex lot will also have special event parking, but the fee will be $5 (cash only) given the proximity of these lots to the events. A downtown parking map charting the City’s lots can be found at www.stcatharines.ca/parking.

The start of special event parking will differ depending on the lot. See the schedule below for a complete rundown.

On-street parking is also available throughout the core. Metered parking is in place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, for $1.75 per hour. Metered parking is free outside of those hours, and on holidays – including July 1.

The City reminds residents and visitors that there are a number of private lots situated throughout the downtown core. These are not City-run lots and the City does not have any control over the fees that will be charged.

City Partners With Transit For Free Shuttle Bus

The City has also coordinated offsite parking that will include complimentary shuttle services in partnership with St. Catharines Transit. From June 30 to July 3, the service will run from special parking that has been established in a portion of parking on the east side of the SmartCentres complex at 399 Louth St., dropping off riders at the corner of Ontario and Lake streets, at Montebello Park. Signage will be erected at the lots for pickup and drop off. Shuttles will run Thursday, June 30, 3 p.m. to midnight, and from noon to midnight the following three days.

Parking Enforcement

Parking enforcement will be in place throughout the weekend, and the City is encouraging drivers to be mindful and respectful of the parking by-laws, as well as private property. Parking by-law infractions can be reported to the City by calling 905.688.5600 on Thursday and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Temporary Disruptions Around Montebello Park For Safety

A reminder that roads and amenities around Montebello Park may experience temporary disruptions throughout the weekend. A portion of Lake Street, from Ontario Street to Queen Street, will be closed from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., Thursday through Sunday. Temporary road closures may also be instituted to support pedestrian safety, including a portion of Duke Street that will be used for ride-sharing pickup and drop off.

The entirety of the park is fenced off and will remain temporarily closed for the event itself, but also in the days following for teardown of the concert equipment. The temporary closure, which includes the new playground, was made with public safety in mind. The park is anticipated to reopen for public use by Wednesday, July 6. The City will provide updates on its social media channels.

The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center is extending its Juneteenth celebrations past Sunday, with events on Monday, June 20, and Friday, June 24.

From 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, the venue is hosting “Underground Railroad and the Seeds on Afro-futurism” at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center. This event is in collaboration with author dann J. Broyld and artist Ellex Swavoni, who will not be present at the event, but her art installation will be featured.

Attendees of this event have the opportunity to join Broyld in a presentation, conversation, and signing of his book, “Borderland Blacks: Two Cities in the Niagara Region During the Final Decades of Slavery.” This event will also feature the art of Swavoni for spectators to enjoy while they learn about the Underground Railroad and Afro-futurism.

Then, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, the “Voices of Freedom” event will take place in the greenspace outside in Tubman Plaza. It will feature The Bel Canto Youth Chorus of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. They will perform songs in relation to the Underground Railroad, liberation, and in celebration of Juneteenth.

These two events are free to attend.

Additional Juneteenth Celebrations

The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center invites the community to come celebrate Juneteenth on Sunday, June 19. The venue is hosting special events:

√ Freedom Conversation Tour: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

√ Freedom Conversation Tour: 2-3 p.m.

√ Walking Tour of Suspension Bridge Village: 3:30-4:30 p.m.

√ Tabling at the Buffalo Juneteenth Festival/Parade: noon until 2 p.m.

The team at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center encourages everyone to come down and celebrate Juneteenth. Visitors can choose between one of the offered tour times or do self-guided tours. During the parade, visitors can also stop by the table outside, in Tubman Plaza, to speak with someone from the Heritage Center.

‘Explore Heritage’ Collaboration with Explore & More in Celebration of Juneteenth

On June 17, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center is hosting “Explore Heritage” a collaboration with Explore & More in celebration of Juneteenth.

Children from the ages of 7 to 10 can experience a jam-packed event with fun coloring activities all while learning about the history of Juneteenth and why it is celebrated.

This program will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center and Explore & More – The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum.

Organizers said, “While the event at the Heritage Center has already been filled, we encourage everyone who is interested in joining to sign up for the Explore & More location in Buffalo.”

The mission of the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center is to reveal authentic stories of Underground Railroad freedom seekers and abolitionists in Niagara Falls, and to inspire visitors to recognize modern injustices that stem from slavery and to take action toward an equitable society. The Heritage Center is an experiential museum that offers self-guided tours, facilitated guided tours, school field trips, and numerous public programs, services and events. Each is designed to expand visitors’ understanding of and appreciation for the Underground Railroad in Niagara Falls, and the enduring impact of slavery in the U.S. More information can be found on the website

LinkedIn Expands Streamlined ‘Boost’ Ad Option to LinkedIn Events

LinkedIn Expands Streamlined 'Boost' Ad Option to LinkedIn Events

LinkedIn’s expanding its streamlined ‘Boost’ ad option, with users now able to pay to amplify their LinkedIn event listings via the Boost process in the app.

LinkedIn Events boosting

LinkedIn initially launched its ‘Boost’ option last year, providing a simple, quick way to amplify organic posts in the app.

Much like Facebook’s Boost process, the feature aims to simplify ad spend, helping marketers capitalize on early traction to expand their messaging.

As per LinkedIn:

With the click of a button and a few payment details, you can easily give your most engaging or time-sensitive content a little boost to quickly expand your audience reach. Thousands of Pages used boosting in the past year to get their content in front of the professionals who matter the most to their businesses.”

Now, you can use the same for your LinkedIn Events.

“To get started, click on the Boost button on the Events page, select your target audience, set the campaign schedule and budget, and enter payment information. This will create an event ad that appears in the LinkedIn feed of professionals that you have selected as your target audience. The ad will feature key dates, location, and information on how to join the event.”

LinkedIn will provide advertisers with insights into how many members clicked on or saw your boosted event ad, and/or registered for your event.

It’s a fairly straightforward ad option, designed to bring in more ad dollars for LinkedIn through simplified amplification in-stream.

Though how effective it is will be relative to each event, and how much you’re willing to pay to ‘boost’ your messaging.

Events have proven to be a winner on LinkedIn, with more than 24,000 events created in the app every week. The ongoing pandemic mitigation measures, and the increasing functionality of online video have ushered in a new age of the virtual meet-up, which has presented significant opportunity for LinkedIn to play a central in the next stage of industry conferences and functions, via its evolving tools.

Of course, many are still keen to get back to in-person functions, which are slowly making a comeback as well. But the work from home shift also means that many people have become accustomed to remote access, which sets the stage for LinkedIn to capitalize on that interest with its event tools.

Boosting provides another element in this respect, with the capacity to reach more professionals with your functions, and maximize interest.

Could be worth considering in your approach.

LinkedIn Expands Audio Events To All Users

LinkedIn Expands Audio Events To All Users

LinkedIn is expanding audio-only live events, first introduced in January in a beta test, to all users who have Creator Mode turned on.

Audio-only live events are LinkedIn’s answer to the success of apps like Clubhouse, and features like Twitter Spaces.

They were always open for all LinkedIn users to listen to, and now all users who turn on Creator Mode can host their own audio events.

In an announcement, LinkedIn states:

“Audio Events are a great way for creators to authentically connect with their community. When you host and attend an Audio Event on LinkedIn, your profile comes with you, allowing you to follow and message with other speakers and attendees who are also listening and engaging in the same Audio Event as you.”

Creator Mode is available to all LinkedIn users who meet the following criteria:

  • An audience base of more than 150 followers and/or connections
  • Recent share of any type of content on the platform
  • A good standing record and a history of abiding by community policies.

In addition to audio events, Creator Mode grants access to live video streaming, newsletter publishing, profile videos, and post analytics.

Since its launch in March 2021, LinkedIn says 5.5 million users have turned on Creator Mode, which has led to a nearly 30% increase in content engagement by users.

Additional Information About LinkedIn Audio Events

Here are some additional details and features coming with the expansion of audio events on LinkedIn:

  • Audio Event attendees can now turn on captions for an event.
  • Improved discoverability of Audio Events by featuring relevant audio events in the My Network tab.
  • Users can now browse and RSVP for upcoming, relevant audio events from people both in their network and beyond.
  • When you attend or host an Audio Event on LinkedIn, you can follow and message the event host or attendees to further engage in conversation.

Fintech Startup TradeStreet Tracking Unusual Market Events Expands Internationally

Fintech Startup TradeStreet Tracking Unusual Market Events Expands Internationally

The Swiss and Czech-based startup TradeStreet using a proprietary algorithm to track unusual stock market events is expanding its coverage from Switzerland and Czechia to the rest of Europe and the United States.

Prague, Czech Republic–(Newsfile Corp. – May 18, 2022) – TradeStreet, a Swiss and Czech-based fintech startup, is expanding its operations over the borders to foreign markets including the rest of Europe, the US and other major markets. TradeStreet is an application that helps to detect unusual events happening in the US stock market by analyzing hundreds of millions of data daily in real-time.

Article content

“We are committed to make the big market data readable to anyone,” Co-Founder and longtime investor Dominik Kovarik said. “People can go and search in millions of data in publicly or privately available data sources, but it is extremely difficult to interpret anything from them. Thus, we have founded TradeStreet. We combine data from many sources and by using modern AI algorithms we backtest, combine and interpret the results to the users.”

Dominik Kovarik, TradeStreet Co-Founder & Investor

The platform makes it easy for intraday, swing and long-term traders to follow unusual option flows. Delivering more than 600 unusual option orders a day by scanning multiple exchanges at once, it helps stock and option traders to reveal sweep orders on the option market. That is especially helpful in conjunction with unusual trades in Dark Pool exchanges (private securities exchange in which typically large financial institutions trade anonymously).

The users will find many other features like analysis of insider transactions (CEOs, CFOs, beneficial owners and others). The AI runs big data analysis on this data based on clustering of the transactions, sentiment evolution and many more.

Similarly, one can follow analyst ratings from the top Wall Street analysts powered by AI and a set of other rules trying to filter the best analyst ratings. The proprietary algorithm, called TradeStreet Analyst Algo™, is an algorithm that based on several conditions trades based on new analyst ratings.

The platform is full of such features, and it is extremely transparent with their customers regarding future features. Via a public roadmap, it prioritizes new features directly with the users. Users can even suggest new feature ideas and by voting and they can eventually be implemented by the two development teams located in Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

Live art and music events planned as festival expands

Live art and music events planned as festival expands

Published:
7:00 PM February 19, 2022

A riverside community is to host part of a series of live art and music events being planned at the end of February and start of March.

Woodbridge Festival is linking-up with partners including Noise of Art, The Riverside Cinema and Theatre, Beach Street, Aspire Black Suffolk, The Boathouse, Tide Mill, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Ipswich Arts Centre, for the shows, which will include a performance by dance star Richard Norris, one half of electronic dance duo The Grid.

The events include:

February 28 – the festival brings its live music concerts back to the 107-year-old Riverside Theatre in Woodbridge, with Richard Norris, part of the duo The Grid (with Soft Cell’s David Ball), has topped the charts in 10 countries.

  • March 11/12 – the festival joins events at Arlingtons, Ipswich’s glamorous pop-up music, arts and eco museum, as part of Ipswich Borough Council’s re-opening of the town centre event, including light art, music and eco exhibitions hosted by several different partners.
  • March 12 – the festival joins events at Beach Street in Felixstowe, with light art projections lighting up the Crazy House and Ibiza legend Chris Coco and Noise of Art’s Ben Osborne bringing their Balearic beats to the beach.
  • March 17 – the festival returns to Woodbridge to project onto the iconic Tide Mill for a special St Patrick’s night celebration.

The event will feature Tide Mill Out, a show that creates club music and visuals from the internal working of the Tide Mill, and projects them onto the building’s exterior. The audio-visual piece was recently featured on the BBC.

The popular Woodbridge Community Disco hits town on Saturday, March 19 with special guests to be announced.

On March 20 Tide Mill Out makes an appearance as an audio-visual art installation in the Miller’s Barn, Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Foxborough Farm.

Finally Sally Rogers, half of pioneering acid jazz, Balearic house and nu-disco outfit A Man Called Adam, joins in for March’s Live from the Riverside on March 28.

Ben Osborne, festival founder and programmer, said: “It’s been great to keep the festival going throughout the pandemic.

“We held monthly events in 2020 when we couldn’t do the annual event and then in 2021 held both regular events and the event in the park – with 1,000 people happy to be back together, safely, to enjoy music, creativity and community.
