Spring Fling at Holmes Presbyterian Church: On April 30 (raindate May 7) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Holmes Presbyterian Church (375 Holmes Road) will hold a Spring Fling. There will be flowers, garden flags, baked goods and hoagies for sale, vendors selling gifts just in time for Mother’s Day, and a yard sale corner. The youth group will have a cereal box race supporting Loaves and Fishes, kids can choose from a variety of crafts to make, and entertainment and stories will occur throughout the day. Community Flea Market/Craft Fair and Slavic Food Festival: May 14. Summer is right around the corner and now is a good time to plan getting that “extra stuff” out of or for your living area. To help you, everyone is invited to Holy Myrrh-Bearers Church, 900 Fairview Road, in Swarthmore (Ridley Township) to a community-wide Outdoor Flea Market/Craft Fair on Saturday May 14t from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. If you or your family have non-food items to sell or if you are a non-food vendor, spaces are now being offered for only $25. St. John Fisher Parish Lenten Series: 4225 Chichester Avenue in Boothwyn welcomes all to share the Lenten Journey. Each refection will be on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in church. Mr. Massimo Paris will bring a life sized replica as he helps us understand the spiritual meaning of the Shroud of Turin on April 7. Refreshments will follow. Free will offerings are appreciated. Journey together as the Family of Faith on the path of the Cross with Jesus.

Norwood United Methodist Church: On the “Second Sunday” of the month (OCT to MAY, not DEC) we host a FREE community event. Evangelist Outreach in Chester: Are you an individual, group, church or organization that have a desire to share the Gospel in our community with the opportunity to receive a $500 stipend. If so, email prayingfriends@mail.com for more information and register to participate.

First United Methodist Church: 350 W. State Street,Media, The church is home to the Media Food Bank which serves 75-100 families each week and is supported by individuals, area churches, and local businesses. The Food Bank is open Thursdays 7-8 p.m .and the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m. The church also serves the community through its Clothing Closet which is open Thursdays 7 – 8 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m. – Noon The Transition Town Media Free Store is located at FUMC and serves as a place to donate used items and take (for free) items that can be used or repurposed. First Church offers free Beginner Yoga Classes Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.

The Christian Church of Chester: 308 W. 3rd St Chester. CCC Café will be open on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. – Come out and enjoy a free hot meal. Zumba is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. – Come to fellowship and get fit for free. Turning Point Ministries: 624 E. Eighth St., Chester, is collecting food as part of its endeavor to continually build up the city. Congregants are willing to pick up any and all donated nonperishable items that can be stored in the church’s pantry until the time comes to serve.
