March 28, 2022 —
Two years ago, the University of Manitoba made the challenging decision to move to a virtual convocation because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are pleased to announce that this spring, both the Traditional Graduation Pow Wow and our Convocation ceremonies will be held in person. Convocation will continue to also offer a virtual experience for those who aren’t ready to attend a large in-person gathering or aren’t able to attend in person.
ABOUT CONVOCATION
Convocation ceremonies for February and Spring Graduates from the Fort Garry campus will be held from June 7- 10, 2022.
Separate ceremonies will be held for graduating students from the Bannatyne campus (May 19, 2022), Extended Education (June 9, evening) and Université de Saint-Boniface (June 13, 2022).
If you have declared your intent to graduate, you will begin to receive emails with instructions on how to sign up for convocation, claim your academic attire, and what to expect from this year’s ceremonies.
The deadline to declare your intent to graduate for Spring Convocation 2022 is March 31, 2022.
You can view the ceremony schedules on our Convocation Dates and Times page.
More details, including honorary degree recipients, will be released in the coming weeks.
GRADUATION POW WOW
The Traditional Graduation Pow Wow will be held on May 7, 2022. All Canadian Indigenous graduates (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) are encouraged to participate so we can honour you for successfully completing your post-secondary program.
To be eligible for the Traditional Graduation Pow Wow, you must be graduating or have already graduated, during the current 2021-2022 academic year.
Visit the Graduation and Convocation page regularly over the next couple of months, as further information on graduation and the ceremonies will be added as it becomes available.
