Bridgerton is Netflix’s latest hit and the most-watched English language show in the streaming service’s history. Michelle Fitzgerald, curator of the Johns Hopkins University Museums, will talk about the material world of the hit Netflix series and what it might teach us about the real 19th century. July 28: Raising Monarch Butterflies at the Roseville Public Library, 29777 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, Thursday, July 28 at 2 p.m. Registration required. Lori Smith will visit to talk about Monarch butterflies, which she has been raising for nearly a decade. The program will include the life cycle of butterflies, how to raise them, and the native Michigan plants that nourish them. Lori will show how you can help save the Monarch butterfly population by growing the plants they eat and lay their eggs on as well as how to take care of the caterpillars and help them to grow into butterflies. Changing weather patterns have had a profound impact upon the Monarch population. Depending on their health at the time, Lori may be able to bring a few live caterpillars to the Library to give you a close-up look! She will also bring photos and videos of her butterflies, as well as seeds for Common Milkweed & Swamp Milkweed plants, which Monarchs love. Plenty of Activities and Events Happening in The Cariboo : My Cariboo Now

The Williams Lake Stampede, and Canada Day events are back in full swing this year after the events have been held off due to the pandemic.

Today (June 30th), the Stampede will be having its first rodeo which will be at 6:45. There will be different presentations and an opening ceremony to kick things off. Once those have concluded, there will be professional rodeo events, mountain race, wild horse race, and wild cowgirls race. From 9:30pm-2:00am, there will be performances from Chad Brownlee, and Karen Lee Batten.

On to Friday, Canada Day events will be taking place at Kiwanis Park, where the City will be teaming up with the Williams Lake Farmers Market. The story with what will be taking place at the event, can be found here.

The Williams Lake Rustlers will have there rugby games start at 9:30 am, and will go until 4:00pm.

There will also be racing at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Gates will open at 2:00pm, with the races starting at 6:00pm.

For the Stampede, the Grandstand gates will open at 12:00pm, with the second rodeo performance happening at 1:45pm. At 9:00pm, Karen Lee Batten, The Tumblin’ Dice, and Dakota Pearl will be performing. That’ll go until 2:00am.

Looking into Saturday, The third rodeo performance will be happening at 1:15pm. The 2020-2022 BC Cowboy Hall of Fame Recipients will be presented, with the rodeo events and races happening after. The Musical performances will be the same as Friday.

It’ll be day two for the Williams Lake Rustlers, which will be going from 9:30am-4:00pm.

Thunder Mountain Speedway will have more races that will have qualifiers at 5:00pm, and the race starting at 6:00pm

For Sunday, at 1:45pm, the BRC bull riding will be taking place, along with the mountain race finals, and wild cowgirls race final buckle. Musical performances will be the same as Friday and Saturday.

Thunder Mountain Speedway will have their Qualifiers begin at 12:00pm, with the races starting at 1:00pm.

Maxville Fair returns with full range of events and activities

The Kenyon Agricultural Society held the Maxville Fair on June 17 and 18. After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair returned with all of its familiar events, activities, and the spirit of the local agricultural community.

The park has hosted world class sporting events, musical performances and family parties. It has also witnessed massacre, riot and military incursion. May 12: Blood Drive at the Roseville Public Library, 29777 Gratiot Ave., Roseville. The Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in the library’s Erin Auditorium on Thursday, May 12, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you would like to donate some much-needed blood to the Red Cross, you can make an appointment in advance, click the link above. Ann Arbor Summer Festival’s Kidzone to feature nightly events, activities in June

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Known for its month-long celebration of all things summer, Ann Arbor Summer Festival has activities for the whole family.

The annual festival offers adults concerts and activities but Tree Town’s littlest residents get their own Kidzone with family-friendly storytime, face painting, karate and more.

Between June 10 and July 3, the Kidzone tent will have free, nightly hands-on activities with community partners, including Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Annie’s Children’s Center and Booksweet.

The 2022 series is sponsored by C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, said Ann Arbor Summer Festival.

Every summer, Ann Arbor Summer Festival hosts more than 200 free and ticketed events around the city with many taking place in the University of Michigan Ingalls Mall.

More than 80,000 people attend the events and activities, a press release said.
