Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month Features Walks, Education and Events

CHICAGO, Aug. 30, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) will showcase how the pulmonary fibrosis (PF) community stands together in the fight against the life-threatening lung disease during Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month in September.

“We will shine the spotlight on PF by sharing important facts about the disease and personal stories from individuals who are impacted by it, “said William T. Schmidt, president and CEO of the PFF. “We want everyone in the community to get involved, come to our events and spread the word.”

More than 250,000 Americans are living with PF, which causes progressive scarring in the lungs. More than 50,000 new cases are diagnosed annually in the U.S.

Community Events

The PFF Walk 2022 to raise awareness and funds for research and support of those living with PF is set for the following dates in September —

  • Sept. 10 – Diversey Harbor, Chicago
  • Sept. 17 – Crissy Field, Bay Area
  • Sept. 24 – National Walk Day, Virtually

The PFF Walk features two course options – 5K and one mile – and family-friendly activities, refreshments, educational materials about PF and more. Registration is free and those who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative PFF Walk t-shirt.

The second annual ILD Day on Wednesday, Sept. 14, aims to elevate awareness of interstitial lung disease (ILD), of which there are 200 different causes. ILD is characterized by inflammation and/or scarring in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe and get oxygen into the blood stream.

As part of ILD Day, an educational webinar hosted by internationally recognized ILD expert, Dr. Anna Podolanczuk, will be held at 12 p.m. CDT on Sept. 14. The presentation will focus on “Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis: What Patients Need to Know,” and will provide information to help patients better understand the disease and its progression. Webinar registration is available here.

Social Media

Beginning September 1, the PFF will post content every day on its social media channels with the handle @pfforg on FacebookTwitterInstagram, and YouTube, using the hashtags #PFMonth and #BlueUp4PF. Each day, a fact about PF will be posted at 11 a.m. CDT and a story will be posted at 1 p.m. CDT.

The #BlueUp4PF campaign recognizes the effect of the lack of oxygen in the bloodstream. Inadequate oxygen levels, which can be caused by PF, may result in the fingernails or lips turning a bluish color. #BlueUp4PF encourages people to wear blue, take a selfie, and post it on social media with the reason they are going blue for PF Awareness Month.

In addition, more than 100 iconic buildings, monuments and bridges will shine blue with hope for the PF community throughout September. The list of sites and the dates they will be illuminated during PF Awareness Month is available here.

About the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation

The mission of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is to accelerate the development of new treatments and ultimately a cure for pulmonary fibrosis. Until this goal is achieved, the PFF is committed to advancing improved care of patients with PF and providing unequaled support and education resources for patients, caregivers, family members, and health care providers. The PFF has a three-star rating from Charity Navigator and is an accredited charity by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance. The Foundation has met all of the requirements of the National Health Council Standards of Excellence Certification Program® and has earned the Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency. OnePlus 10T launch event recap: Release date, price, features and more

Having reviewed the OnePlus 10T, we’ve added the phone to our rankings of the best Android phones and best gaming phones.

And that, as they say, is that. With OnePlus wrapping up its 10T presentation, you can now find out just what we think of these features in our OnePlus 10T review.

OnePlus 10T pricing

Finally, some OnePlus 10T pricing, and it was worth the wait. The OnePlus 10T costs $649, which is $250 cheaper than the OnePlus 10 Pro’s starting price. That gets you the 8GB/128GB version. You can get the phone with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $749.

In Europe, OnePlus 10T pricing starts at €699, with our U.K. friends paying £629.

Europe gets the phone first — the OnePlus 10T goes on sale August 25 there. Preorders in the U.S. don’t start until Sept. 1, with the phone going on sale Sept. 29.

OxygenOS 13 is coming to the OnePlus 10 Pro first, interestingly enough.

OnePlus says it’s working closely with Google — “especially the Android team” — to provide the best experience for OnePlus users.

OxygenOS 13 and always on displays

Some of the highlights for OxygenOS 13 — besides that aquamorphic design — includes a personalized smart launcher, new always-on-displays layouts and spatial audio. A lot of the features also draw on what Google’s adding to Android 13.

OxygenOS is an appropriate name, by the way, because this segment has gone on so long, I feel like all the oxygen has been sucked out of the room.

OxygenOS 13

OxygenOS 13 is built on Android 13, by the way, and with that software update not coming until September, I’d imagine that this new version of OxygenOS is coming later, too.

We’re getting a look at OxygenOS 13, with OnePlus’ goals touching on smoothness and consistency of experience. the new OS features an Aquamorphic design, a new visual language which OnePlus says is inspired by nature. From a video that OnePlus aired showcasing OxygenOS 13, I take it to mean that’s a new color scheme with icon shapes that are reminiscent of droplets.

There’s some design talk about the look and feel of the OnePlus 10T, which to my untrained eye, looks a lot like the OnePlus 10 Pro. The phone features a unibody design so that the camera array is a part of the phone, not just a bump jutting out. Your color options are Jade Green and Moonstone Black.

Some behind the scenes details from the OnePlus 10T launch event.

OnePlus 10T cameras

OnePlus hasn’t forgotten about the cameras on the 10T, which features a 50MP wide angle camera, augmented by an 8MP ultrawide angle lens with a 120-degree field of view. There’s a 2MP macro sensor on the back of the phone, too.

You won’t see a telephoto lens like you did on the OnePlus 10 Pro apparently.

The camera presentation was very brief, in case you were unclear as to where OnePlus is putting its focus with this phone.

OnePlus 10T screen specs

It’s time to talk the display, which is a 6.7-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate can adjust between 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz, though it’s not an LTPO screen so you won’t see the refresh rate scale down like it does on the OnePlus 10 Pro.

OnePlus 10T battery health

There’s also a Battery Health Engine on the OnePlus 10T, meant to extend the life of the battery. Among its features is the ability to charge even in extreme cold. OnePlus says the battery is good for 1,600 charging cycles, which should minimize degradation over several years.

OnePlus 10T battery features

As OnePlus promised, the 10T will feature 150W charging (at least outside of North America). That should be a new speed record that places the OnePlus 10T among the fastest charging phones.

Specifically, those charging speeds can deliver a full day charge in about 10 minutes, according to the 10T presentation.

OnePlus 10T gaming frame rates

There’s a new version of the Hyperboost gaming engine on the OnePlus 10T, with an emphasis on increasing frame stability and touch responsiveness. In an hour-long session of PUBG Mobile, for example, the frame rate only drops slightly.

Meanwhile, a 1000Hz touch response via OnePlus’ LSTouch technology, you’ve got a phone that won’t falter when you’re rapidly tapping the phone’s screen.

Some OnePlus 10T specs that may be relevant to your interests…

OnePlus 10T 16GB RAM

Turning to multitasking, we’re keeping more apps open and those apps are taking up more memory. In response, OnePlus is going to make a 16GB RAM option available with the 10T. There’s an Always Alive feature for the phone that works with the 16GB of memory, which can keep nearly three dozen apps running in the background at the same time.

OnePlus 10T coooling system

With great performance comes great overheating, and OnePlus says it’s going to fight that with its new 3D Cooling system.

OnePlus says the cooling area is 64% larger than what the OnePlus 10 Pro offered, with the 10T featuring advanced vapor cooling technology. The upshot is that the cooling system in the OnePlus 10T has been optimized to handle heat dissipation quickly. After an hour of gaming, the OnePlus 10T runs several degrees cooler than competing flagship phones.

OnePlus 10T Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1

And after a lot of preamble, we’re diving into the OnePlus 10T. Qualcomm’s Chris Patrick is out to discuss the chip maker’s relationship with OnePlus. In the case of the 10T, that means the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

The focus of this presentation is on the performance boost the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 provides — 10% CPU boost and 30% faster graphics over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that came out at the start of the year. So we’re really seeing an emphasis on how the 10T will perform.

We’re getting a recap of OnePlus’ Burdenless philosophy, which covers the way OnePlus designs and evolves its products. And that leads us into a video on Oxygen OS, which Anderson says will remain the software for OnePlus devices. (There had been some concerns that new owner Oppo was going to impose its software on OnePlus instead.)

Christian Anderson, VP of sales for OnePlus North America, kicks things off with a recap of OnePlus’ year so far. The upshot: The OnePlus 10 Pro has been a very popular device, helping the phone maker’s sales grow. And OnePlus has released a lot of phones in the last seven months.

With the OnePlus 10T launching in less than 10 minutes, we’re going to spend a lot of time talking about the features included with the phone. But let’s spend a moment reflecting on a long-time OnePlus feature you won’t find on the 10T — the phone’s alert slider.

The alert slider has been MIA from cheaper OnePlus phones, but the OnePlus 10T is the first flagship from the company to ship without it. The slider is quite a popular feature with users, setting OnePlus phones apart from their Android counterpart.

The reason for the omission? The big battery, a new antenna, and the fast-charging technology included in the phone took up a lot of room and sacrifices had to be made. So au revoir, alert slider, we’ll think of you every time we go to silence our phone at the movie theater.

OnePlus 10T launch event still

The OnePlus 10T event live stream is now live on YouTube (opens in new tab)… sort of. It’s in countdown mode at the moment as we get closer to the 10 a.m. ET kickoff time. But you’ve got a page to bookmark now. We’ve also updated this live blog with an embedded feed.

OnePlus 10T cooling system

Since OnePlus is anything but reticent when it comes to discussing new phones — including phones whose launch event is less than an hour away still — you can find a lot of detail about the OnePlus 10T, pre-launch. In fact, the launch event page at OnePlus’ website (opens in new tab) touts a smattering of features, many of which we’ve talked about.

But there’s one we haven’t discussed — the phone’s cooling system. On its website, OnePlus touts the 10T’s “3D Cooling System 2.0” and what a bonus it will be for mobile gamers. Keeping phones from overheating certainly would appeal to gamers, as a hotter phone can see performance degradation. That OnePlus would include the cooling system in its promotion efforts suggests that the 10T may be positioned as a gaming phone — or at least a phone built with gamers in mind.

OnePlus 10 Pro event

We’ve got some last-minute info on the OnePlus 10T, and as you might expect, it comes straight from OnePlus. The company has posted another deep dive about OnePlus 10T specs (opens in new tab), and this time, the focus is on charging speeds.

Specifically, OnePlus says its new phone will support 150W Supervooc Endurance Edition, the company’s fastest charging technology ever. According to OnePlus, the 4,800 mAh battery in the OnePlus 10T can be fully charged in 19 minutes thanks to the 150W charging. (Oh, looks like OnePlus also revealed the 10T’s battery size — and it’s slightly smaller than what the OnePlus 10 Pro offers.)

Of course, in North America, our 110- and 120-volt outlets are no match for 150W Supervooc charging, so the OnePlus 10T will charge at “only” 125W. That means it will take 20 minutes to fully charge the phone, or 1 minute longer than what our European cousins will enjoy.

You’ll get a 150W Supervooc charger and USB cable with your OnePlus 10T purchase, OnePlus says.

OnePlus 10 Pro cameras

Hasselblad has been a big part of the last couple OnePlus flagship launches, with the Swedish lens specialist fine-tuning the lenses on the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 10, and improving some of the phones’ photo processing. Those specific devices didn’t unseat Apple or Google from the top of the best camera phones list, but they certainly held their own against the top picture takers.

So it’s curious that Hasselblad apparently won’t be involved with the OnePlus 10T, based on OnePlus’ comments to The Verge. “[OnePlus] wanted to offer an ultimate performance flagship smartphone at the device’s chosen price point,” chief designer Hope Liu told The Verge.

That could mean anything, but it sounds like OnePlus is putting a premium on boosting the phone’s performance and is less concerned about the camera. If that is the case, it’s an odd choice, given how important digital photography is to smartphone shoppers.

a photo of the OnePlus 10 Pro

If the OnePlus 10T launch today seems like the latest in a series of OnePlus phone launches, you aren’t imagining things. There have been a lot of OnePlus handsets rolled out in 2022, as OnePlus has expanded its product portfolio to include budget models as well as flagship challengers.

By my count, we’ve already seen the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, the OnePlus Nord 2T, the OnePlus Nord N20 and if you want to extend the search to other markets than the U.S. and U.K., the OnePlus 10R

Compared to the days when OnePlus was rolling out one, maybe two phones at most, it’s quite a change. And it puts me in mind of an editorial my colleague Jordan Palmer wrote a while back wondering if OnePlus is losing its magic with all these phone releases.

Image of the OnePlus 10T in black and jade green colors

The big question heading into today’s OnePlus 10T launch is what OnePlus is going to charge for the phone — an especially relevant piece of information in these, our times of rising costs. For the record, the OnePlus 10 Pro debuted with an $899 price tag — less than comparable flagships, but still pretty pricey so far as OnePlus devices go.

The 10T is supposed to have a better chipset in the form of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, but without the Hasselblad branding for its cameras, it’s possible the 10T could come in at less than the OnePlus 10 Pro. We certainly would hope for a phone that’s no more than the one OnePlus introduced earlier in the year.

Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1

Let’s talk about the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 that OnePlus has confirmed will be powering the OnePlus 10T. It’s a step up in performance from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which you’ll find in the OnePlus 10 Pro, as well as the entire Galaxy S22 lineup. But more importantly, it’s also better at power management than that earlier Qualcomm silicon, not that the long-lasting OnePlus 10 Pro really had a problem with battery life in our testing.

We’ve tested a couple of Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1-powered phones already — the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro and the Zenfone 9. Both got excellent marks for performance, if you’d like an idea of what we’re expecting from the OnePlus 10T.

OnePlus 10 Pro power port

One area that’s worth paying attention to during today’s OnePlus 10T launch involves any battery and charging details the phone maker announces for the new device — and not just because that’s info OnePlus hasn’t revealed in advance of the event. OnePlus’ power management features are always of interest.

We’re expecting the OnePlus 10T to retain the 5,000 mAh battery found in the OnePlus 10 Pro — why fix what isn’t broken, after all. On our demanding battery test, the 10 Pro turned in a time of 11 hours, 52 minutes with its adaptive display feature turned on. Adaptive displays can put a hit on battery life, but the OnePlus 10 still earned a spot on the list of best phone battery life that we track.

As for charging speed, remember that the OnePlus 10 Pro used 80W charging, but because that feature didn’t meet U.S. charging standards, users in the States had to make do with a 65W charger. We’re curious to see if that persists with the new phone.

Good morning and welcome to Tom’s Guide’s OnePlus 10T launch live blog. We’ll be bringing you all the last-minute rumors in the run-up to the event, then giving you full details on the phone itself as it’s revealed. So bookmark this page and check back regularly for the latest.

Calgary events share Indigenous culture, promote healing and reconciliation - Calgary | Globalnews.ca

This week brings a new opportunity for Calgarians to connect with southern Alberta’s rich Indigenous culture.

It’s a chance for people to learn about the past and to make healing connections for the future.

It comes in the form of a series of weekly events at St. Patrick’s Island.

The free events will feature Indigenous knowledge-keepers sharing traditional stories, as well as drumming and singing.

Among those leading the gatherings is Clarence Wolf Leg Jr., a member of the Siksika Nation.

“I’m a Blackfoot powwow singer — I’ve been doing this for about 30 years,” Wolf Leg Jr. said. “I’m just creating some positive energy.”

The events are being organized by Tarra Wright-Many Chief, whose company Many Chief Tours offers Indigenous-themed walking tours of St. Patrick’s Island.

Wright-Many Chief says, the purpose of free events is “to teach people about the history of the Blackfoot people and our connection to this area.”

St. Patrick’s Island is in the Bow River, directly across from the place the Elbow River flows into it.

“[It is] close to the confluence of the two rivers, which is a sacred site for the Blackfoot people — people would come here to do ceremonies,” Wright-Many Chief said.  “And so it makes sense for us to come here and start creating space for Indigenous stories and knowledge to be shared — where it was traditionally shared thousands of years ago.”

Everyone is invited to attend the events, which run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on six consecutive Fridays from July 22 to August 26.

“We’ll be providing some good vibes, and that’s what the powwow songs are meant for,” Wolf Leg Jr. said. “They’re meant to heal and to break down barriers, to help complete this reconciliation that we’re all going through.”

Father’s day events a success despite weather | Globalnews.ca

This Sunday marks the day to thank dear old dad.

In Regina, the kite festival, various music festivals and father’s day specials at a number of restaurants were just part of the excitement.

Folks in the city of Saskatoon are spending the rainy day at the farmers market, the Prairie Lily, and at home, most importantly, with their family.

“I remember the good points of my dad and hopefully some appreciation from my sons, and we might have a nice dinner tonight and that’s about it,” said Ian Parenteau, father.

The farmers market opened 10am to pm on Sunday, and they were offering a summer reading tent for kids.

The Prairie Lily was booked solid for brunch and dinner.

“We’ve got a real family feel here, so there’s lots of little kids out there with their dads and on our brunch we had a lot of big kids with their dads, so really a family celebration today,” said Joan Steckhan, Prairie Lily Co-owner.

Steckhan says because of the drizzle, it was a good day to be out.

“The rain, it’s so beautiful in the river valley just with this little drizzle, so the people that are joining us today are in for a real treat,” said Steckhan.

She says there’s been lots of families spending the day together, especially since this is the first fathers day they’ve been able to run in two years.

“It’s nice to be back for fathers day, the last two years we couldn’t sail on fathers day, so it’s nice to have all the dads back,” said Steckhan.

Google Play adopts App Store-like features including in-app events and custom product pages – TechCrunch

Google Play adopts App Store-like features including in-app events and custom product pages – TechCrunch

At Google’s I/O developer conference, the company rolled out a series of updates for Android app developers who publish to Google Play. Among these were two high-profile changes to its Google Play app marketplace, custom store listings and in-app events, which follow updates Apple made to its own App Store just last year.

Google had been offering A/B testing for product page enhancements since 2015 — a feature that allows developers to see which text and graphics would best convert users.

Apple later adopted a similar feature when, at last year’s Worldwide Developer Conference, it introduced Product Page Optimization designed to help developers to try out different app screenshots, videos, and even app icons to try to appeal to different types of users. Developers could segment a certain percentage of App Store traffic to these cohorts to see which product pages performed better before deciding which page should be their default.

Apple last year also announced a related feature called Custom Product Pages that lets developers create different product pages to highlight different app features, each with its own unique URL to be used in external marketing channels.

Today, Google is following suit and essentially launching the same thing with Custom Store Listings.

Instead of simply testing different product pages, Android app developers will be able to make up to 50 custom store listings for their apps. Each page will have its own analytics and deep links available. Notably, this is more listings than Apple’s solution offers, which is currently set at 35 per app. Google explains developers can use this feature to display different listings to users based on where they’re coming from. For example, a developer with a recipe-finding app could target ad campaigns to U.S. users based on U.S. holidays, by showcasing recipes for Thanksgiving or July 4th. But it could target users from other markets at different times with recipes related to their own cultural traditions.

Apple last year also introduced an App Store feature, in-app events, to allow developers to promote real-time happenings going on inside their apps — like special events or even just seasonal deals.

Google Play is now rolling out its own take on this feature, as well.

With the launch of what it’s calling “LiveOps,” developers will be able to submit content for featuring on the Play Store, including major updates for their app or game, in-app events, and limited-time offers.

Google says LiveOps can drive 5% more 28-day active users to apps and deliver 4% higher revenue for those using the feature compared with those who don’t. The feature is in an invite-only beta testing phase for the time being.

While these changes were the highlights among those designed to help developers target, acquire and re-engage their users, Google also announced a few other notable Google Play updates.

The company said the Play Store would be updated to help people find the best tablet-optimized apps with new large-screen focused editorial content and a separate review and rating system for large-screen applications. Google Play will also later this year be updated to look better on tablets and foldable devices.

For developers, Google also launched the Google Play SDK Index which lists over 100 popular SDKs and which app permissions they use, so developers can determine if they adhere to Google Play policies and help fill out their app’s privacy labels.

The company said it will soon launch a new Play Console page dedicated to deep links to put all the information and tools for deep links in one place. It also improved its Store Listing Experiments feature (aka A/B testing) to allow developers to see their results more quickly, with more transparency and control so they can better understand how long each experiment may need to run.

And beyond this, it rolled out features focus on improving app quality, including a new Developer Reporting API for accessing Android vitals metrics and issues data outside the Play Console; support for viewing vitals data at the country level; and Google said it’s making it possible to view vitals alongside Firebase Crashlytics. It updated the Play Console by adding revenue and revenue growth metrics to Reach and devices and overhauling its device catalog to include install data and filters by new device attributes like shared libraries. It said it’s now easier to test apps on different form factors including Android Auto and soon, Wear OS.

Play App Signing was updated to use Google Cloud Key Management and the ability for any app to perform an app signing key rotation in the event of an incident or as a security best practice from the Play Console.

And finally, Google’s In-app Updates API will now let users know if there’s an update available within 15 minutes instead of up to 24 hours.

Wine symposiums featuring a look at African and Italian wines will be part of the 41st Sun Valley Museum of Art’s Wine Auction event, which runs July 20-22.

The Museum is also creating a new opportunity for music lovers to join the party after the Wine Auction Picnic to enjoy a glass of wine at Trail Creek while listening to the music of the MarchFourth Marching Band, which was here 12 years ago.

“We’re very excited to be building on last year’s success with a couple new events,” said Wine Auction Director Peter Burke.

Last year’s wine auction raised more than a million dollars for the arts education The Museum provides in schools and out in the community. The auction provides about half of the museum’s annual income, enabling The Museum to offer free programs to 4,000 students in the Wood River Valley. It has provided  more than a million dollars in scholarships over the years to local high school students, college students educators to pursue the study of arts and humanities outside the valley.

  • The week will kick off on Wednesday with nine VINTNER DINNERS and a YOUNG PATRON’S WINE TASTING, which will be held at the Sun Valley Wine Company. The dinners will be held at private residences up and down the valley from Carol Swig’s Sky Horse Ranch in the south to Rosalie and Dan Peed’s estate in Big Wood.

The vintner dinners are really special because they create opportunities for us to have important conversations about the work we do,” said Burke. “Everybody there is to talk about the mission versus Trial Creek where the focus is on raising money. They have some incredible wines and some incredible dishes.”

  • The WINE PICNIC, LIVE AUCTION AND CONCERT will begin at 5:30 pm. Thursday, July 21, on the lawn outside Trail Creek Cabin. The dinner will be served buffet style and the lots will include a trip to Mendoza, Argentina, which sits in the heart of Argentina’s wine country in an area famous for Malbecs and other red wines.

Afterwards, TRAIL CREEK AFTER HOURS will offer lower-priced tickets to enjoy wine and the concert provided by the MarchFourth Marching Band, which entertained those attending a Wine Picnic Concert 12 years ago with imaginative costumes, acrobatics, stilt walking, dancing and music provided by a four-piece percussion corps, a seven-part brass section and electric bass.

  • Ron and Susan Greenspan, who came up with the idea for the River Ranch Wine Walk last year will chair the Wine Auction this year. They fell in love with Sun Valley, buying a house the third day of their inaugural visit in 2008, and made Sun Valley their primary residence four years ago.

“I love them—they’re two of the most down-to-earth gracious people,” said Burke. “Ron is a member of our board of directors and they have a significant art collection that represents a lot of artists here in the Sun Valley area.”

  • THE RIVER RANCH WINE WALK will close out the week’s events from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 22. It will be held in the same location as last year, offering patrons the chance to wander through beautiful gardens and along the Big Wood River south of Ketchum, maybe even playing a game of badminton as they do.

  • Vintners will show off their latest wines at various locations chosen to represent areas like Napa, Sonoma, Willamette and Walla Walla, while servers will float among patrons, offering hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Sun Valley Culinary Institute and charcuterie from Atkinsons Market.

The event will be capped at 200 people with priority going to those who have bought packages.

The popular Vine and Dine picnic and concert has gone by the wayside because it got too big and demanded too much from the vintners, said Burke. But those who looked forward to it year after year can be consoled by the fact that The Museum is planning a block party on June 16.

The party, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., will offer a chance for the community to thank Kristin Poole for 25 years as artistic director as she steps away to become concentrate on consulting work. The party will feature a band, food from The Haven and beverages from Warfield Distillery.

Package and A La Carte Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11.
