The 47th edition runs from September 8 to 18

The global pandemic has led the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to take different forms in recent years, but organizers are aiming to resume in-person portions of the event for their 2022 festival.
TIFF’s 47th edition will run from September 8 to 18, and in announcing those dates, organizers pointed to the return of networking and celebratory festival events, including the TIFF Opening Night party, the industry conference, filmmaker dinners, industry networking Events, press and programmers events, as well as the TIFF Tribute Awards gala.
Earlier in the pandemic, TIFF’s 2020 edition was “tailored to fit the moment,” with physical screenings and drive-ins, digital screenings, virtual red carpets, press conferences, and industry talks. This hybrid model was carried into 2021, bolstered by vaccine and COVID test policies.
TIFF organizers share that the health and safety of staff, volunteers, guests and audiences “remains at the forefront of TIFF’s planning” [via CBC News] and that the aforementioned COVID-19 protocols, and those outlined by the province of Ontario, will continue to be followed.
