Fed Chair Jerome Powell will speak at Jackson Hole today

Today the monthly and year-over-year PCE price index and core PCE price index are on tap. Traders also will be sifting through real disposable incomes, real consumer spending, nominal personal incomes, and nominal consumer spending data, as well as advance trade in goods. Lastly, the University of Michigan (UM) will release its final consumer sentiment index, and five-year inflation expectations.

The following public company is slated to release corporate earnings today, August 26:

JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. (NYSE:JKS — $58.65) engages in the design, development, production, and marketing of photovoltaic products. JinkoSolar will report its Q2 earnings of 2022 before the bell today.

Looking ahead to next week, a handful of Federal Reserve officials will be offering remarks on the state of the economy. There will also be no shortage of economic indicators to unpack, as investors kick off September with a huge batch of manufacturing data.

Next week’s earnings docket includes reports from Baidu (BIDU), Best Buy (BBY), Big Lots (BIG), Broadcom (AVGO), C3.ai (AI), Campbell Soup (CPB), Chewy (CHWY), CrowdStrike (CRWD), HP (HPQ), lululemon athletica (LULU), Ollie’s Bargain Outlets (OLLI), Signet Jewelers (SIG), and Weibo (WB)

The Holy Rosary Catholic Church Festival wraps up today on the church grounds, 2224 45th St. Live music today features Willie Sturba (1 to 2:30 p.m.), The Chevelles (3 to 5:30 p.m.) and Good Vibez (6 to 9:30 p.m.). The festival is open noon to 10 p.m. All the festival food favorites are back, too, including fried dough.

The Sweet Corn Festival is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Jerry Smith Farm, 7150 18th St. in Somers. The festival features local food trucks, live music and craft vendors — in addition to all that sweet corn. Admission is free.

Prost! The Biergarten in Petrifying Springs County Park is open seven days, serving up cold beverages and warm pretzels. For more details, check the Biergarten’s Facebook page.

The Racine Concert Band’s final outdoor free summer concert of this season is 7 tonight at the Racine Zoo, 2131 N. Main St. The program features guest vocalist Darlene Kelsey and flute soloist Beth Kapralian. The zoo’s gates at Walton Avenue and Augusta Street open at 6:30 p.m. for free admission to the concert. A courtesy cart, for audience members who need assistance in getting to the concert site, is available before and after the concert.

The Wisconsin State Fair wraps up today at State Fair Park, 7722 West Greenfield Ave. in West Allis. Free entertainment includes daily free shows by the Kids From Wisconsin and the always popular racing pigs! Did we mention the cream puffs yet? It’s Independent Bookstore Day, and Kenosha’s Blue House Books is hosting a celebration. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., six area authors will read excerpts from their books, take questions and sign autographs. Food offerings by Hydn Cheese will start at noon. “She Kills Monsters” — a play rooted in the Dungeons & Dragons universe and featuring numerous sword-fighting scenes, advanced projection technology and loads of special effects — continues tonight in the Main Stage Theater at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 900 Wood Road. The show runs April 30-May 1 and May 6-8. Performances are 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. There is also a 10 a.m. matinee on Friday, May 6.
